Hello all. I have built a number of learning checks in Storyline 2 and have published them to track against the results slide and record a status of complete / incomplete. However, they are all tracking as passed / failed in my LMS.
I've been told that the reason for this is that my learning checks are exam type content with a mastery score, so they will track as passed / failed as default. Apparently I need to add a condition along with the mastery score forcing the content to record as complete / incomplete.
When published, I've already set the 'report status to LMS' as complete / incomplete in the reporting and tracking options. The status is being recorded in my LMS as passed / failed though.
I have a similar problem with my client. Their LMS guy said the following :
The courses can have 2 different statuses in the Scorm Cloud : Completion Status and Success Status. However, the LMS recognizes only 1 status : Success status. The LMS takes the 2 differents statuses and automatically converts it to 1 status according to the attached chart.
To get a completed status in the LMS, I need to send an empty Success status.
Many LMSs track both a completion status and a success status. To report both statuses, choose either Passed/Incomplete or Passed/Failed when publishing Storyline content. To report only the completion status, choose Completed/Incomplete and Completed/Failed.
I have several pieces of content which I've published with the 'Completed/Incomplete' status setting. They don't contain any learning checks but will only record a status of 'Passed/Failed' in my LMS.
The only way I can get them to record a status of 'complete/incomplete' is by changing the 'SCORMfunction.js' file in the way I described above.
Do you think this is likely to be a problem with my LMS?
I have a similar issue and would love some help! My issue is with reporting to articulate online. I originally published a training with Complete/Incomplete reporting. I needed to change it to Pass/Fail, so I republished the training with the new reporting settings, but all of the records remained the same.
Was there an update I missed to fix this? Or is there a way for AO to read the scores with the new setting?
Thanks for the reply! No they did not, but is it absolutely necessary for them to retake it in order to be scored with the new settings? There's quite a few people...
If you're still tracking by the same method, such as quiz results, and changed nothing other than tracking then the reports would still be ok with only different wording.
Did not want you to assume your users HAD to re-take if not necessary.
Yes you're right. Our method is a little complicated though. We use an excel sheet that has formulas which extract the user's score and match it with their manager, site, job title, etc. It's our bandaid for an LMS until we get one. Seems like the issue was that the formula only recognized the word "passed" instead of "completed". Working on it right now, to change the formula to read the scores without changing the interpretation of pass/fail training scores.
I have a similar issue, and I will love some help! Does anyone work with SABA 5.4 (LMS)?
I have built a simple game in Storyline 1 and have published it as the following: - for Scorm 1.2; - tracking completion using the result slide; - reporting status to LMS as “complete/incomplete”.
However, it is reporting as “passed/failed” in the LMS (SABA).
I have tested it out in Scorm Cloud, and it works properly there (I received this feedback: "completion status = complete"; "success status = unknown;" and the correct score).
I have reported this information to our LMS team, but they looked at the file and said they didn't know what is happening.
I am thinking about trying the steps Daniel presented here - thankyou very much, Daniel! - (about changing the file 'SCORMfunction.js'), but I understand that only our LMS team can do it, right?? (Because those changes must be done in the published scorm package, so it won't work if I publish the package in my computer, do those changes and then send this new file to our LMS team upload to the server, correct??)
Unfortunately, our LMS team work in a different building of the company, and we have no access to that area, so I need to send them the .zip file remotely for they can publish it there (it means I can not publish the scorm package there and do the changes Daniel presented here). :(
Sorry to hear you've run into issues with the output. If you were to make the changes in the JS file as Daniel mentioned, you could zip up that entire folder and then send it along to your team - the changes occur in the Storyline published output not on the LMS itself. Please note that we don't support modifications of the published output - so I would suggest taking this step with caution.
Hello Fiona - Are you able to replicate this issue in SCORM Cloud or is the issue limited to your LMS? If you are able to replicate, please feel free the .story file for us to take a look.
Hello Fiona - Would it be possible to reduce the size perhaps by just testing the quiz/tracking element. You could import the slides into a new file for testing.

Thanks for replying Matthew.
When published, I've already set the 'report status to LMS' as complete / incomplete in the reporting and tracking options. The status is being recorded in my LMS as passed / failed though.
Hi Daniel!
Do you experience the same result if you test your content in SCORM Cloud? This will help us determine if it's the content or the LMS.
Hi Leslie - SCORM Cloud is correctly recording the status as complete / incomplete.
I'll go back to my LMS provider armed with some more information!
Thanks Daniel - and if it's working as expected in SCORM Cloud that's great info to share with your LMS team.

How to I do that ?
I hope you can help me.

Hi Annie,
By changing one of the files in the published SCORM package I've been able to get a completed status into my LMS. Here's what you need to do:
Within the published file structure there is a folder called 'LMS' and within there is a file called 'SCORMfunction.js'.
Near the top of the 'SCORMfunction.js' file there is some text which says:
var SCORM_PASSED = "passed"
var SCORM_FAILED = "failed"
Change "passed" to 'completed' and change "failed" to 'incomplete'.
The status will then be transferred into your LMS as either 'complete' or 'incomplete'.
I hope that makes sense but feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions.
Daniel

Hello Daniel,
The passed reporting issue is a known issue and information can be found here.
Hello Daniel,
This solution works for me. Thanks !

Hi Chelsea! Did the users re-take the course since you published?
Hi Leslie,
Thanks for the reply! No they did not, but is it absolutely necessary for them to retake it in order to be scored with the new settings? There's quite a few people...
If you have re-published the content, yes, the users would need to re-take the course to utilized the updated settings in your reporting.
Alright thank you!

Just an additional thought.

Hi everyone,
I have a similar issue with our current LMS (Edoceo).
The course is setting to "Passed/Incomplete" and when I have finished the course in the LMS, the score is 100% but it's noted as "Incomplete"...
Here are the settings when I have published it:
- Scorm 1.2
- tracking completion using the result slide
- reporting status to LMS as “Passed/Incomplete”
Any help?
Thank you!
Fiona

Hello Leslie,
I can't import the course on your SCORM Cloud since it's too heavy (even via the FTP)... Is there any other option to test it?
Thank you!
Fiona
Hello Fiona - Would it be possible to reduce the size perhaps by just testing the quiz/tracking element. You could import the slides into a new file for testing.
