Control - Check Boxes

Feb 23, 2015

Hello -

I'm struggling on something I know is a simple fix...

I have a list of six categories on a Menu Slide that are noted with a Control: Check Mark Box.  However, I'm struggling a bit on the trigger to add...  When users click one of the six categories, they are taken to the appropriate slide.  When they've completed each slide, they are directed back to the Menu Slide with the six categories.  Each time they are taken back to the Menu Slide, the category viewed is checked.  Once all six of the categories have been viewed and all six of the check marks are marked on the Menu Slide, I would like them to be taken to the Conclusion Slide.

What am I missing on how to get them to the Conclusion Slide after all six check boxes have been marked?

Thanks so much!

Thank you...I am so confused as to what I'm doing wrong and why it isn't working with what I have listed.

I have six check boxes on the menu page. When one category is viewed, the user is taken back to the menu page to view another. Each time the user comes back to the menu page, the box is checked illustrating that they have already visited that category. When all six boxes have been checked because all six categories have been viewed, I would like the conclusion slide to show.

I've tried changing/editing/deleting/adding triggers, etc. and am even more confused/frustrated than I was initially.

I realize it's an easy fix, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what I'm doing/not doing correctly!

Thank you for any suggestions,
Jamie

Hi Jamie

I can see you've sent a file to Emily so I'm just going to add a couple of suggestions without seeing it but do you have your learners returning to the menu slide before they access the conclusion slide? If so the button/action that they take to access the conclusion should have conditions that it only works IF Checkbox 1 is equal to Selected AND Checkbox 2 is equal to Selected AND Checkbox 3 is equal to Selected etc

If you want the conclusion slide to display after all the content is finished, without returning to the menu, you need to track that with variables.  Each Checkbox needs a corresponding T/F variable that starts of False and is adjusted to become True when the button is Selected. Then the slide advance from the end of the content can show the conclusion If Variable 1 is True AND Variable 2 is True AND Variable 3 is True etc. Otherwise the slide advance will return you to the menu to select another section.

The reason for the difference is that you can't 'see' the state of an object which is on another slide, but you can 'see' the contents of a variable from anywhere within the course, so variables can be used to record what happens in one lace and use that information somewhere else.

Hope that helps a little

Helen

Thank you...it works, although there is a split second where you can see the Menu screen before the Conclusion slide once all of the boxes have been checked. But, it's at least working now...:)
