I was wondering if it was possible to temporarily disable the close button (red X at top right of the screen) UNTIL the slides reaches the end of the timeline. This way, we force the user to wait until all the content has been displayed.
Currently, the close/exit button for lightbox slides can't be changed. However, you can create your own custom lightboxes with a modified close/exit button. Here's a video demonstrating that:
I have an issue with using the lightbox for a quiz question. When I use this method, I can't record my quiz responses in the results slide. Do you have any suggestions?
I'm not sure what you mean that you can't record them in your results slide? If you're lightboxing a slide it should still appear as a regular slide in your course story view and be accessible as a part of the results slide if you're using a standard question slide. If you've set up something more custom or continue to experience difficulty with the built in set up we're happy to take a look - are you able to share the .story file here for staff and the community to take a look at? You can upload it using the "Add Attachment" button at the bottom of the reply window.
Sorry,
I can't send the file now because I'm not at my computer. Basically we are showing videos in the training. At certain points, we pause the video to ask a quiz question, which must be recorded on the results slide for that module.
However, my question is when creating the quiz questions on layers, I can't record the response on the results slide. Is there a way to do that?
You're correct about the lightbox. My issue there was that the user can exit the lightbox without answering the question. Unless you have a way that I can prevent this?
Thanks,

Thanks for clarifying - I wasn't sure which part of this thread you were using/referring to. Since the built in quiz questions have to be on the base layer, using a custom set up on a slide layer you won't be able to calculate that as a part of the results. Similarly if you're using the built in lightbox there is not a way to prevent the user from exiting the lightbox. The video shared above includes a more custom lightbox set up.
I think from what your describing this thread is a bit different than your set up, so sharing the .story file would help you in getting additional advice from the community. Here is another example of a video quiz set up that you may want to look at.
Is there any development concerning the close/exit button for lightbox slides (i.e. to be able to disable it and enable it with triggers).
The great advantage with the built in lightbox feature is that it appear over the entire player, i.e. also over the menu area if it is displayed. This cannot be achieved in any other way.
I haven't heard of any changes to this lightbox behavior so I don't have any updates to share here. I can certainly see how being able to modify it would allow you some more flexibility and create broader customizations, so it's definitely something worth sharing with our Product team here.
We are using lightboxes in an accessibility course. When the user tabs to the the close "x" button the screen reader reads "Unlabeled 2 button". We cannot find a way to change the alt tag or button label name. How is this done so the screen reader reads it correctly
It looks like we have an active report on the issue you are describing where the lightbox close button is being read as "Unlabeled Button." I will include your notes for our team, and we will continue to investigate this issue further!
You're in the right place, and we'll be sure to reach out with an update as soon as we can!

Hi Ashley,
I was hoping that there were a way besides creating a lightbox of my own. Thank you for your response!

Hi, folks! To circle back on Vincent's reply:
Update 40 for Storyline 360 is live: We fixed the issue where the lightbox close button would read as 'Button' by NVDA and 'Unlabeled button' by JAWS.
