Convert HTML5 output to Storyline output

May 24, 2017

Hi everyone, I am wondering if there is a way to import a course developed using HTML5 in Articulate Storyline. Is this possible?

I want to convert the HTML5 course to Storyline output because of numerous responsive issues in the HTML5 course and lack of capability to resolve these.

Thanks for any solution in advance!

Hello Utkarsh and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

If I'm understanding your questions correctly, you will not be able to input your published output from another program to utilize within Storyline.

The Storyline output cannot be re-converted back to a project file either.

You would need a .story file.

Please let me know if I have misunderstood.

Hi Leslie,

Thanks for your reply.

I'm working on Utkarsh on this project. The course in question here has been built by HTML5 programming (no authoring tool). We are facing challenges of Adaptiveness on mobile as well as certain browsers.

Out first solution is to fix the HTML5 issues. We are working on the efforts needed for this.

However, to avoid unknown issues cropping up in future, we are looking for a way to rebuild the course using Storyline.

1. Is this easily possible?

2. If not, then what kind of efforts are needed to rebuild the course in Storyline having base content ready in HTML5?

Thanks for the details Nachiketas!

I misunderstood your original question, so thank you for clarifying and letting me know that you did not utilize an authoring tool.

You will not be able to direct import into Storyline, but the software is pretty user friendly and I'm sure easier than programming :)

If you're able to share what you have now and let us know what version of Storyline you will be utilizing - I'm sure that we will be able to guide you to getting started and we have many savvy users that would probably be able to better assist with the design aspect.

Thank you very much Leslie.

Any guidance in terms of the optimum way forward will be much appreciated.

I've attached the course files. (MVL Custom HTML5 Course.zip)

Issues:

1. Vertical Scroll appearing. Not Responsive. (atm-1.jpg)

2. 'Yes' Button not working once Exit button pressed.(atm-2.jpg)

3. Time spent not being passed to LMS. (atm-3.jpg)
