Converting 4:3 PPT to 16:9 Articulate

Jun 11, 2015

Due to the size of our laptop screens we are converting all of our courses to the 16:9 format. My problem is I can't get articulate to bring in the PPT accurately. These are plain old courses with text and flow charts nothing fancy. I have tried starting with Storyline2 in 16:9 and importing the PPT from both a deck of 4:3 and 16:9 slides but they still need MAJOR formatting to fit.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Leslie

I have an interesting problem in Storyline 3. I  designed a ppt file in 16:9 format and after that, I create an Articulate Storyline 3 file also 16:9 format. The SL3 file is blank, so I try to import the ppt file; but, altough I try many times, there is always a difference between the SL3 and PPT view. I attach the screenshots. When I try to do this in SL2, I have a different problem. In this time, SL2 makes smaller the fonts. Could you help me about that?

Hi Deniz,

Thanks for sharing those screenshots, and I'm sorry you're running into issues with importing your Powerpoint into Storyline 3!

Based on the images, it looks like it squeezed the content even though you used the same slide size. How odd! Would you be comfortable sharing your Powerpoint file with our support team to take a closer look?

Here are some additional tips to note when importing PowerPoint into Storyline 3:

I'm having the same problem. I  have ppt files in 16:9 format, created a storyline 360 file also in 16:9 format, then imported the PPT. The text and images are fuzzy, nowhere near as sharp as the ppt - this is true for all of the slides. And the formatting (text and graphics) is off on some of the slides.
