Converting an existing course to Spanish

Dec 05, 2019

Hi.

I need to convert an existing English language course to Spanish. This includes not just replacing the audio track, but the Words on the individual screens. Most of what I have seen related to translating a course is several years old. I know that you can change the language preference from the desktop app. What I'm not sure about are the following:

1. If I change the language preference will that also change the language for the 360 interface? (for example, will all the commands, options, etc be in Spanish?

2. If I change the language preference and open an existing course, will 360 try to translate the course, or only the interface?

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Robert!

These are great questions, and I'm happy to help answer them! First, translating a course is a simple task. We've even listed out the directions here. Simply put, you'll export the course, translate it, and bring it back to Storyline by importing it. One quick note: All courses will need to be translated individually.

Secondly, changing the language of the interface can be done in the Player Properties. I'll show you how to do that here. These settings are specific to each course, so you'd need to change the text labels in every course.

Let me know if you have any questions, Robert! We'll be here to help.
