I just converted a project created in Storyline 1 to Storyline 2.
Straight away I realized I have to rework every slide.
All of the text formatting, bold, font size etc had been completed messed up in Storyline 2. Caption boxes also changed size.
I also noted that any caption box in Storyline 1 than was formatted to " Do not Autofit" has changed to "Resize shape to fit Text"
anyone have this happen?
This has set me back 2 days now...
Hi,
Same kind of issues here.
Captions size ne kept. Some other shapes like lines position is offset by a couple of pixels. They do not display at the same place altgouh the horizontal position number in the dialog box shows the same number.
Really annoying! I have more than 200 story files to convert!
The only font used in this particular project was Arial.
Most of the slides had a title with Arial 20pt and a subtitle of Arial 12pt. For example, on conversion, the main titles switched to 12pt bold, and the subtitles changed to Arial 15.5 pt. No logic to that.
Bullet lists also changed and went out of alignment. I could go on.
Interesting. Articulate completely changed the text editor in SL2 and I know that during beta testing I was experiencing issues like you are reporting now but it was with open-source fonts from Google and some custom fonts that I purchased.
If you have not done so I think it might be worth submitting a support case so that it gets on their list of bugs to fix.
I just imported a SL1 project into SL2 and I have to admit, it came through really good. Knock on wood--I'm not yet seeing any of these issues. For the most part, I'm using various "official" Helevetica-Neue fonts.
Same problem here. But, now in SL2 I can't format the font size or type. Most were the articulate font in SL1. I want to change them to Ariel, but no luck.
Are you only unable to format in files that you upgraded from SL1? What about in a brand new .story file created in SL2? You may want to look at conducting the repair of SL2 here - and ensuring you're working locally with all project files as mentioned here.
Are there any differences between your story size and or other slide size settings that could be impacting this? Also, since there are changes overall to how Storyline 2 handles text, that may be attributing to some adjustments - for example how a pixel is added to the margin.
We're happy to take a look and let you know if we see anything off or if the changes are the expected elements as I mentioned. You're welcome to share your .story file here in the forums with us and we can take a look.
The text format are all reset to "align left" instead of the originals "justified" when I convert to story2. Since I have hundreds of slides, will wait for a fix to this issue before convert them all.
The fonts are doing fine, i use "articulate", and nothing change on their sizes.
I am also having the same problem with the update 5. It costs our company money to go back and fix all of the text boxes. A bit frustrating! Has anyone found a solution to this?

Just curious as to what fonts were you using in your courses.

This won't happen on new projects created in SL2 but having to adjust all the text in SL1 legacy projects is not fun.
Wow.

Hi Carrie,
It looks like this thread goes back to the initial release of Storyline 2, so I'm not certain that it's one particular issue or element - but you'll want to confirm that you're following along with the guidelines here for working on project files, that you're using the same story size when updating a file from SL1 to SL2, and aware of the changes in terms of the pixel added.
