Curious if anyone knows of any system/s within Storyline or if there are softwares available online for converting a Storyline Flash file [.swf] into a straight video file [e.g. MP4]?
I ask as I’ve used Articulate to create a number of Camtasia-style screen-videos, and as they’re ‘just’ pure screen-capture videos, I’d like to be able to just convert them straight into MP4 videos.
Is this possible though? And if so, how?
Thanks for any help,
Nick

Hey Nick, welcome to Heroes!
Are you talking about Screen Recordings? You can export a copy of your screen recordings as MP4 movies, and you can save individual frames from your screen recordings as PNG images. Is that what you're hoping to do?
Holy smokes Nick -- what a giant pain in the butt this is. Because the new Articulate product doesn't work well with flash I had to embark on a quest to convert over 1000 swf files to mp4. I spent weeks agonizing over this, I was astound by how difficult this was. I must've downloaded five different programs to try and set up a system to "batch" the conversion.
I ended up paying a guy in Sri Lanka to do it. The communication with him were tough but he finally got it done. Let me know if you want his info. I never did find a program that was a simple, batch-able program to just dump a bunch of swf in one end and spit out mp4 in the other. Actually I did, but the audio would never end up working right.
shoot, just noticed this OP was ancient, oh well, maybe it'll help someone else. Suggestion for Articulate: put the date UP TOP where people can see it when they start reading so they can judge whether this is some out of date post. We're all busy, this would really help. Thanks.
Hey Jim! Thanks for popping in to contribute, even on the oldie but goodies.
