Copied slide contains strange window?

Jul 21, 2016

Hi all,

I've created a module and copy/pasted a few slides from another module within it. When I preview my project, and when I publish and launch the SCORM package, the copy/pasted slides look strange (see attached). The previous slide is greyed out in the background, and the copy/pasted slide shows up in a smaller window with an X in the top-right corner. When I click the X I revert back to the previous slide. The slides function normally, and look normal in the edit screen.

This is a new one for me! Any help would be much appreciated

Hi Jessica,

Thanks for reaching out here! When you're viewing the published SCORM package are you uploading it into an LMS environment first before viewing it? If you view an Articulate Storyline course on your local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail. To properly test your published content and share it with others, make sure to upload it to the environment for which it was published.

I would recommend also testing your course in SCORM Cloud to see how it behaves in an LMS testing environment, if you haven't already done so.  Here are some LMS troubleshooting steps, including SCORM Cloud testing.

If you're testing in an LMS environment and still finding that some elements appear oddly, I would try importing the slides into your course rather than copying and pasting so see if that helps. If it doesn't, would you mind sharing your .story file here for us to take a look? You can attach it in a comment right to this thread.
