copy and pasting triggers

Sep 18, 2013

The typical keyboard shortcuts (ctrl c/v) are not working for me on the triggers panels. I have a lot of slides that require pasting and would like to avoid having to use the onscreen button to do it.

Hi Nina,

I'm not sure this is the same issue as Zollie described as i believe Zollie was looking to copy the triggers themselves (which you can do with the copy/paste trigger buttons or by duplicating an object it'll copy triggers associated with it).

In regards to setting up triggers that account like how to copy paste, any keyboard shortcuts you set up may be also browser shortcuts as detailed here, and therefore will default to the browser behavior.

Hi Nina!

It looks like Zollie's question was a bit different than yours.

There may be times when you're unable to copy and paste slides using keyboard shortcuts, Ctrl+C andCtrl+V respectively.

This issue was fixed in Update 4 for Storyline. To take advantage of the new features and fixes, download and install the latest version from the link in your product confirmation email, or get it here.

It sounds like you are referring to this:

When requiring users to press a specific key or combination of keys in your Storyline content, be sure to thoroughly test your published output to ensure it works as you expect. Some keystrokes are common keyboard shortcuts in web browsers (F1, ALT+D, CTRL+T, etc) and may result in unexpected behavior.

The parent application—your web browser—will always receive the keystrokes. This behavior cannot be changed. If a conflict occurs, it's recommended that you adjust the design or requirements of your content to avoid the conflicting keystroke(s).

Keystrokes can be assigned to triggersstep-by-step screen recordings, and several question types.
