Copying a recording slide and/or scene

Feb 05, 2013

Hi there,

I finished a screen recording and inserted into a new scene. I am trying to copy the slides and I would get an error message every time. I also tried to copy the entire scene and I would still get the same error message.

If I right click to copy it would give me the error messaged attached.

If I use CTRL C, it would close Articulate Storyline.

Please provide any assistance.

Thanks

Jamie

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Jamie!

Oh wow, that is not expected behavior at all. Just want to check one thing, first; are you working with a project that's local? Try to make sure you're not working from any external sources (USB drives, network drives, etc.).

If you are experiencing unexpected issues using Articulate software, here are some tips for managing your files which can help prevent issues.

1.  Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.

2. You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).

3.  Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

If you've checked all the information above and you're still seeing this error message, can you tell me what version of Windows you're running? Also, what version of Storyline are you running (you can find this by clicking on "Help" and "About Articulate Storyline")?

Thanks Jamie!

Christine
