Correct Layer of Drag n Drop Quiz Acting as the Base Layer
Aug 24, 2016
Hey folks,
I am reviewing the content built by someone else and I have come across a very strange situation.
It's a drag and drop quiz and for some reason there's content from the custom "Correct Layer" which says something along the lines of "you are correct" and has a green tick mark on the base layer. The problem is I simply cannot get this off the base layer as I don't see it on the timeline. I also don't see it on the feedback master. The only other place it's seen is on the actual Correct layer. So it's kinda like the correct layer is behaving like the base layer as this same correct feedback is also visible on the incorrect layer. And I cannot get it off in spite of choosing to hide objects on the base layer using the layer properties option.
Can anyone take a look at the attached file please?
Cheers!

Hi Richa
did you duplicate the base layer to create the correct feedback layer? Should the correct layer look like the incorrect layer but with the correct tick and feedback? or should the base layer show through on the correct layer?
It looks right when you preview but it's just in the slide edit view.
Although I see that there maybe something wrong with your triggers as you can't delete either of the submit interaction triggers which could indicate a corruption in the slide.
Hey Wendy.
I'm not sure what the person who developed it did as I am only reviewing it. The base layer need not show through on the Correct layer. It needs to look just like the incorrect layer with the correct tick. Basically, it can just be a blank layer where I can copy the tick mark, the text saying the answer is correct, and the Next button.

Hi Richa
I rebuilt the slide and its working now - see updated file attached.
Thank you so much, Wendy!! This is perfect. Did you have to rebuild the slide again? How did you manage to remove the text box from the base layer? I ask because I have at least 2 more similar slides.
Also, what do you recommend I do to avoid this? I have seen this happening to the content created by one particular person. So I might have to provide detailed feedback on how this can be avoided.
Once again, thank you so much for your help.
Cheers!

Hi Richa
i created a new freeform drag and drop quiz slide. This auto creates a default correct and incorrect feedback layer.
I copy/pasted the contents from the base layer old slide to the base layer new slide.
I then applied a blank feedback layout to the layers and moved the default text boxes on the correct and incorrect layers offstage and copied the contents from old feedback layers to new feedback layers.
Sorry but I don't have an answer as to how it happened in the first place. I checked all the master -and feedback layouts to see if there might something hanging on there but couldn't see anything.
Hope that helps
It certainly does Wendy! I'll definitely recommend everyone in my team to build a quiz question newly each time. It's possible that some of them are rebuilding content on top of older quizzes and some old elements just stayed back.
I really appreciate all your help.
Cheers!
