correct password is not going through when user clicks next

Feb 21, 2018

Hi,

My team and I have several modules that asks users for a password before entering. Since switching to SL3, the password doesn't go through on the first 'enter'. The first 'enter' prompts an "incorrect password" message, which is false. If the user doesn't change the password and hits click a second time then they are able to enter the module.

Anyone with similar issues or any ideas on a solution?

Hi Laicy, thanks for your post!

Were the courses originally created in Storyline 2?

If so, would you mind sharing one of the original course files with me? I'd like to test the functionality in Storyline 2, then upgrade to Storyline 3 and test again.

You can click here and attach the file to a new thread comment. Just look for the Add Attachment button. Thanks!

Hi Laicy and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

I'm not sure I've heard of a similar issue. Would you be able to share a .story file so that we can take a look?

My first guess would be that the focus is still on the text box, so the variable has not changed yet. So, one click actually triggers both the entry and the control to lose focus, which then sets the variable, so the next click sees the variable and the password is right.
