Corrupt Storyline file -URGENT

Dec 04, 2018

I need help!

Again I was working from home on a secure connection.

Saved my story line file - now i am back at work and it says file corrupt or i don't have the permissions to open it. This is really frustrating when working to a deadline and the time invested with animations etc. Is there anything you can do?? Why does this happen?

I could not open your file since it appears to have been created in an earlier version of storyline.

However, you can try going to the \AppData\Roaming\Articulate\Storyline folder on your pc (or something very similar) and looking for .tmp files. These are autosave files that can be restored just by renaming the file with the .story extension.

Good luck with that, I know how it feels :(

Hi

It is not an earlier version of Storyline. Storyline is updated on a regular basis.
This is ridiculous.

Many thanks,

Hi, Sonya. I'm so sorry this happened.

Like Dario, I'm seeing the "corrupt" message when trying to open your file in Storyline 360. Did you have any luck checking your .TMP files? Here's a quick Peek recording on how to find them.

File corruption can happen even when all the recommended best practices are followed, unfortunately. If you hit this roadblock again, please let us know, as we never want you to spend hours troubleshooting an issue alone!

P.S. Looks like you may have replied via email in which your contact information came through. This Peek will show you how to edit it out if you'd like!
