Corrupted Slide Master

Jan 21, 2013

My slide masters not longer display as thumbnails. They are apparently there, but something has become corrupted. They don't show in story view and it makes thing very confusing to try and troubleshoot.

I recently upgraded Flash and Java. Could either of these be the cause? I am using Windows 7. Everything was working fine until today and now I am getting complete lockups (storyline freezes and I can't close it except manually through the task manager).

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Mark,

Oh my, that doesn't sound good. Sorry to hear you're running into this issue. I noticed a recent Java update myself, but haven't seen the issues you mentioned. Have you restarted the machine, since upgrading Flash and Java?

Also, does this happen when you're looking at a specific file? If so, are you able to create a new file?

Please also make sure that you're working with files on your hard drive. If you've moved any files to external sources such as a network drive, USB drive, etc. you could run into some strange problems.

Thanks!

Christine, thanks for a response.

Yes. I restarted my machine since the upgrade. I am working off of my hard drive.

Here's what I am seeing in story view:

When I go into the slide master this is what I am seeing?

This is bad enough, but I am getting freezing, complete shutdown of Storyline. Nothing works. The only way to exit is to shut the app down through task manager. I really need some help here.

Thanks.
