Course Completion Issue

Jan 16, 2013

Hello!

I really hope someone can help with this... I'm making myself crazy!

I've built a course that branches off of a main menu.  The learner must complete all 6 chapters to complete the course.  On the last page of each chapter, a variable (chapter seen- true/false?) is flipped to true.  Once all 6 variables say true- they can go to the Thank You page and close out of the course.

This worked fine until I tested in my LMS.  Thing is- the chapters branch occasionally, so I can't base completion on the slide views.  It's too variable.  I didn't include a test originally.

Based on something I read on here, I created a "Pick One" freefrom quiz slide at the end of each chapter, replacing the last page and turning the next button on the last page in to the Pick One object.  The Next button previously returned the user to the Main Menu.  This is submitting a score, but no longer returning to the Main Menu- it goes to the next page, but there’s no Next action on it.

I tried creating an off-screen object that changes state to Selected when the timeline starts and making that the Pick one, but that didn’t work either.  Basically, I’m at my wits end.  HELP!

Here is a link to a shortened version of the .story file for reference: https://learning.whirlpool.com/Upload/SMU/10127-for_heroes_forum.story

Thanks,

Megan

Hi Megan,

Thanks for the link, but I ran into an issue when trying to download the file and take a look at what's happening. Unfortunately, we can't download from that site, it requires a logging in. Are you able to attach the file to this thread? To do so, just click on the paperclip icon in your response, navigate to the .story file and upload it. Keep in mind, however, if the file is very large it may not post.

Thanks!
