Course completion status resetting to incomplete after file is reuploaded

Hi all,

Was hoping you may be able to help me with this. We had someone external build us a project on Storyline 360 and they selected the course complete trigger as method of tracking. Now internally we use Storyline 3, so I can see this is being used but I can't view any of the triggers that have been set. This course went live over a month ago and since then based on feedback I have had to make some amendments and therefore overwritten the existing SCORM file on the LMS. This seems to be resetting the course completion for a lot of users but not all. I pulled a report before the amendments were made that showed 100 odd people as incomplete and then pulled a report after the amendments had been made showing 200 people incomplete. That is not the total number of people on the course and many are still showing as complete.

Could you please advise if this is an LMS issue? We have contacted Unicorn LMS but I wanted to know if anything to do with the file could be causing this. I'm not really sure if I can replicate this issue in SCORM Cloud given that some people have been affected by the new file overwriting the old one and some people haven't.

Hi Narissa,

When you update (overwrite) existing course files in your LMS, learners who previously started the course won't be able to resume where they left off. They'll start over at the first slide in the updated course. 

Do you know if the learners who have now been reset to "Incomplete" reopened the course after you had overwritten the file?
