Perhaps this was in the old Studio but I seem to remember an option to turn on a timer at the top of a course that had total time and time elapsed as a person went through a course. What happened to this? I get the total time and post that on the title line, that is a fine work-around. The elapsed time would be nice though.
Hi Jennifer, maybe this article is what you are looking for, it will enable you to set the duration, as well as the time format to show both the elapsed time and the total time of the course.
Great conversation, and you're right. This is an option in Presenter.
Storyline won't show duration or time elapsed due to the non-linear nature of slides and interactivity.
A few thoughts if you need to see the total time elapsed while a learner goes through the content.
One thought is to enable the Results slide timer that Carlo recommended to start at the beginning of the course. You'll need to set a time for when the course should end, though.
Create a progress bar as a visual indicator for learners. I gathered these related discussions:

Not quite, but thank you. Not looking for this in a quiz. Looking for it to display throughout the course. Used to display in Studio.

Thank you Katie, I will check out these links. I completely understand the non-linear nature of Storyline- its one of the many reasons we love it.
