Course creation for corporate

Sep 09, 2015

Hi

I am new to LMS and course creating for it.  I have a client who wants me to collaborate on a course based on her book.  She loved a course I created for someone else but it was delivered using basic Powerpoint and tools that I could upload in Ruzuku platform for the general public.

I am now trying to figure out Course creating for LMS the her large clients have.

When I use Articulate Storyline to create this course then what do I need to know about getting it into other's LMS systems?  How do I sell it? I heard once I load the course into the other's LMS that I have lost control of the participation tracking and how many take the course.  We want the ability to sell to those who may not have LMS, one that doesn't because of security and needs an app function.  LMS make sense for corporations that have many employees and courses offered.  What is the best way to go or options for us?  We have a few mini courses that will be credits so we have test and we also want to offer certification for the series.

Again, if our course goes into someone else's LMS how do we control any of this?

I looked at a third party like Open Sesame and they take a cut bigger than I'd like.  I need to justify it to my client.

Your advice and wisdom is greatly appreciated!

Hi Linda, You could sell the course in two ways: license or direct sell. If you license it to someone else, they can put the course on their own LMS and deliver it/sell it themselves. Or you can direct sell it to your customers by placing the courses on your own LMS and charging people.

Your question really is not about course creation but rather what type of business model would be best for your educational company.

Cheers, Julie

Hi Linda! Looks like Julie has popped in with some great advice here.

I wanted to mention that you may find benefit in posting to our Building Better Courses forum for this type of topic as well as the product forums are more for assistance and issues with the software. Just want to be sure you are reaching the audience you desire for assistance.

Thanks Julie!
