Course has a lot of "lag"
Apr 17, 2017
The course I have created via Articulate 360 has a lot of lag. That is, it takes a very long time to go from one slide to the next. Also, on some browsers (e.g., Chrome) it won't even go past the start screen. For some reason, it seems to work best on Firefox. I thought it was due to the videos in the project having to load from an online server (LMS). However, I even have major lag problems when viewing it locally (i.e., clicking "view project" immediately after exporting via Articulate). The problem persists when I use DOCEBO LMS, which has worked fine for my other courses. If I export at very low video / audio quality, and upload to SCORM Cloud, it is slightly better on a desktop. But when I view the course via SCORM CLOUD on my Android Tablet (via Firefox), i get an error message that sayts "Currently Unable to Play this video. Stop the other video and try again." There is no other video playing.
I am exporting as SCORM 1.2, HTML 5 (only).
Here is the SCORM Cloud Link.
Any suggestions? I can share the source file if it would be helpful.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much,
Mike Skrajner

Hello Mike - I am not seeing any lag so far, but I cannot seem to skip past the second slide, so seeing the .story file would assist in testing for sure :)
You can attach it right to your reply via the 'Add Attachment' option in the bottom left of the reply window.
the file is quite large. here is a dropbox link to it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/a4462gepsignaa9/Understanding%20Dementia%20rev6.story?dl=0
Thanks Mike!
Turns out, my window was hiding the navigation. It took taking a peek at your file to see that though :)
Is there a particular slide/area where you are experiencing a lag? I took a look at your file again and got hung up on Slide 2.42, but could not reproduce on another launch of the course.
In case there was something corrupt, I imported your slides into a new file and published. Do you experience an issue with my published output here?
If not, perhaps importing your slides into a new file will work for you as well.
it seems to work better when i go to your link, especially via desktop. but i am still having problems using the course via mobile devices (checked an android tablet and android phone, chrome and firefox). it is very slow to load the training initially. Then it is slow to get to each slide. it eventually gets stuck entirely and won't do anything. any thoughts as to why this might be happening on mobile devices?
also, the menu that i created (upper left of slides) does not seem to be working--regardless of desktop or mobile. is this expected behavior when importing slides into a new file (will i need to recreate the links)?
Hello Michael,
It does look like the specific links were not included from the master slide.
If the file is not working better for you, that may not be the issue though. I'm still not seeing the issue, so not sure if it's a connection.
I want some expert eyes to take a look, so I filed a case on your behalf (01057984) and you should be hearing from someone soon.
I'll be sure to follow along as well, because now I am curious :)
great, thanks so much.
Hey Michael - I popped in to check on your case and I see that you and Abel are digging deep and doing some testing :)
I'll continue to follow along.
Hi again! We just released another update for Articulate 360, and included a few important fixes and new features that you'll see in the release notes here.
We had talked about how lots of videos in a course could cause slides to lag or lock up in HTML5 output, and they could be sized or positioned incorrectly during preview. Those issues have been addressed!
Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for each application.
