Course Loops upon Exit

Dec 09, 2016

I have an Articulate Storyline 2 course that I've created and works fine in Preview mode, and in the SCORM cloud.  I published it in SCORM 1.2 to the LMS option and zipped it.  The course runs fine and records a completion in our proprietary LMS, but when the user clicks the EXIT button on any screen, or the EXIT button on the last screen, they get the pop-up asking if they want to continue where they left off.  If Yes, they go back to the last screen they were on.  If No, they go back to the beginning of the course (a looping effect).  I researched the articles on Exit buttons and applied what I found to no avail, so I simply took out the EXIT buttons and had the user close their web browser.  That eliminated the looping issue, but now the course won't post a completion (I have it set where the completion happens when the timeline starts on the last screen where the EXIT button is).  I've tried other tweaks, but to no avail. My client's deadline is just about missed and I'm out of ideas, so I'm reaching out to you guys for help.

Yes, I tested it on SCORM Cloud and it worked fine.  I just tried another attempt, and I, again, received no course completion on my LMS.  I started with a version that does receive a course completion, but loops at the end.  To solve the looping, I made the EXIT button white as not to affect the trigger it's attached to, and changed the wording from "Click the Exit button" to "Close your browser."  That's it, that's all I changed and when I tested it, the course did not show a completion.  I can't believe that minimal change I made would affect the course in the LMS that dramatically.
