Course Status Updates to Completed Before All Slides are Viewed When User Clicks Exit Button

I want to place an exit course option preferably in the player, but otherwise, on the course slides using a trigger. I've tried both ways, but when a user clicks either exit option before viewing all the course slides, the course status updates in the LMS to completed even though I've published the course so that all slides have to be viewed before its status should change to completed. 

The storyline publishing settings I've used are: Scorm 1.2, LMS Reporting status to LMS is Completed/Incompleted, and Track using number of slides viewed (98/98 in my case).

We are using an LMS that I don't have control over, so I need to know whether my publishing settings are incorrect, or if it an LMS issue that I need to discuss with our LMS provider (not a commonly known LMS - it is specific to my industry).  They've already investigated and can't figure it out, so if it is an LMS issues, I am looking for some specific advice I can send their way.
