Course not marking complete in Cornerstone
Jun 06, 2018
Hi everyone,
I've combed through posts about Cornerstone but can't seem to find an issue in my course. It's based on completion via number of slides. We've tried the total number of slides, as well as 28 of 29, but we cannot get the course to mark complete. There is a gamification element of collecting coins but it has no bearing on the completion of the course. We've also tried changing the reporting status from Passed/Failed to Complete/Incomplete, etc. Anyone have any thoughts? We have a hard time with our LMS, but I can't think of anything that makes sense to change. Thanks!

Hi Amanda! Thanks for sharing your published file with me. By the way, I love the gamification element you added to this course. I enjoyed going through it!
I tested the course in SCORM Cloud, and the completion status was correctly reported.
Could you also test this link and let me know if the completion status works for you, as well?
I am having the same issue. I had the course set up to mark Complete/Incomplete based on the Results Slide and when that didn't work, I added a Complete Course trigger and it is still not working.
Have a read of this thread and try by executing the java script on the last slide to see if things workfor you.
Hi Stephanie,
Thanks for letting us know what you are experiencing in your course.
Are you able to replicate this issue in SCORM Cloud or is it limited to your LMS?
With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
The course failed in SCORM Cloud as well but I figured out the issue. I used a Results Slide template and there is no trigger to submit the results on the template, I had to add it.
So glad you were able to get that figured out Stephanie. Thanks for popping in to share the solution with the community.
Hello. Is it best practice guidance to set completion via number of slides on less than the total? I also use Cornerstone. I have been told this is a workaround for issues when Completions are incorrectly being marked. However, I've also been told a workaround is the sequence of triggers - such as a trigger to send a status and then a trigger to close a browser on the last screen.
