Course size
Mar 01, 2021
Hi all,
I have a rather large course with 290+ slides in it. It's essentially a sales call simulation with a video on each slide containing a cartoon figure delivering the answer to the question asked on the previous slide.
It works fine in the review tool, but users complain that videos are slow to load, the course is slow to load, etc.
The final course is 50MB (zipped size). The course file is 65MB.
Is this expected behavior? Could it be due to limitations of the LMS or the user's internet connection? Are there workarounds to make the experience more smooth, that I'm missing?
Best regards
Michael

A bit of further info. On each slide I run a Javascript making captions 175% bigger as there is no way to control captions size built into storyline. Could that cause the issue?
Hmmm... Some of the really long ones are hosted on Vidyard, but the other ones are embedded... I just find that hosting the videos elsewhere creates a less seamless experience as the video has to load on each slide which ruins the illusion. But thanks :-)
So @Matthew... How does it work then if the same video file is reused in the course? It still only counts as one file, right? I have two different outcomes (videos) on the 62 different paths that can be taken - pass and fail.
