Course With 5 Different Assessments Only Giving Results for One

All -

I've got a huge need for help. I've got a large course that branches into 5 roles each role has its own set of questions and Results page. However, when publishing on the Reporting and Tracking Options window, I can only select one to track. This means the 4 other roles are getting Incompletes because they aren't taking that quiz. We've thought about adding a 6th "Dummy" quiz with a True/False for each quiz, e.g. "Did they pass quiz #1? T/F". Then set up a final results slide that gives them a passing score if they get 20%. However, since it is a Compliance course there are concerns of a Passing score of 20%. Each quiz has 10 questions and learners take all 10 questions for their role. This course was live and is having to be recalled so time is critical. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jessica,

Storyline can only report/track one completion result - whether that is a results slide or total slides viewed. The score of 20% is something that you could hide on the actual results slide, so it would only be visible in the LMS.

If that still doesn't meet your needs, what about using the method described here to submit the results based on one slide?

How I would suggest using this is:

  1. The success layer of each individual results slide, passes through to the single question mentioned in the article.
  2. The question is marked correct automatically
  3. The results slide is only tracking that question so the score would be calculated as 100%
  4. If the user is on the failure layer, bypass the question and go direct to the results slide. Since they didn't answer the question it has been marked incorrect and they'll see a score of 0.
  5. That score can then be visible to the user and passed to the LMS.

With this method you wouldn't see each users exact score, more just a pass/fail.

There may be others in the community who have set up this exact scenario. I'd also suggest reaching out in the Building Better Courses side of ELH and see if there is anyone who can help! That side tends to focus more on design and how to.
