I saw a course set up with indicators on the top right of the screen (they looked like little houses, but I guess you could use any icon) that allowed the user to jump to a module or just see where they were in the course.
Does anyone know how to do this - or at least something similar?
Hi Brian, Ok found out how to use markers, but I don't see how I can use them unless I put them on every screen - which I really do not want to have to do as this is a large course. I also did not see how to set triggers on markers. Can you advise?
Would I have to use a Master slide to set this up? I rarely use master slides as I rarely need them.
I found a copy of what I want to do. This shows at the top of every screen and the user can click on the icons and see where they are in the course. I assume its markers, but do know how to get it on every screen without doing it manually.
It looks like you shared a PPT file here, so I'm unsure if that was what you were looking to share if you're using Storyline. I would suspect if you wanted to use the same icons across the course and they'll always go to the same location you could look at putting them on a slide master.
If the course is already complete, I wouldn't recommend trying to add a slide master in at this time as it could impact the layout of other elements. Also if the course is already published, there isn't a method that I can offer support for that would allow you to change that layout or set up without going back to the .story file.
You may want to review the information here about slide masters. Each of those items would have to have a trigger to go to the particular scene/section and then if you want to indicate which ones the user has already seen you'll also likely want to use a state change. The visited state should suffice, so that when the user clicks on those items to navigate it'll change the state.

Sounds like a marker, with a trigger that Jumps to Slide
Thanks Brian. I haven't used markers yet, but I'll look into it.

Hi Ashley,
I did put the example in PPT as I could not paste directly into the message.
The course is created, but I did not use a slide master - I rarely, if ever, do. So, can I add a slide master to the completed course (Articulate)?
Thanks!

Hi Ashley,
The course is not published as yet.
Going forward, how would I accomplish including this page indicator using the slide master?
Thanks,
Actually, all your slides have a master layout, so you don't need to add a master. Just place objects on the master and they are placed on each slide.
