Course won't play in Internet Explorer

Aug 08, 2019

Hello.  I am having trouble with several SL 360 courses.  They have been uploaded into an LMS (MasterControl V11.6) and attached to a course.  This version of MasterControl requires the use of IE (we have V11) otherwise the course sign-off process within MasterControl doesn't work.  When the courses are launched, the player displays but the course will not play.  However if I use Chrome to access MasterControl and launch the course, the player loads and the course plays.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Our IT department has tried several things including ensuring compatibility mode is not being used.

Thank you for your response. IT checked and yes HTML5 is enabled. Any other thoughts?

Hi Carol,

Me and my team encountered something similar, have you tried going into...

internet explorer settings > Advanced...

Toggle on* the following under multimedia heading:

> Enable alternative HTML5 media elements

> Play animations in webpages*

> Play sounds in webpages

After I did this and refreshed the page my course opened.

Hi Carol,

It looks like you are getting some great assistance here. I wanted to share a link to our documentation on this issue for you and your IT team to take a look.

Also, it looks like your email signature came through when you replied via email. You can remove that if needed by clicking ‘Edit’ beneath your response. Here’s a quick Peek video if you need help.
