Create a Coursera like template for elearning

Mar 01, 2017

Hi Everyone

I am absolutely new with Storyline. Trying to create an e-learning course with slides and the lecturer talking (talking head). Have a couple of doubts. What I want is for the template to look like the attached picture. Menu on left, lecturer video playing below it and content of the slide on the right. Have a couple of doubts.

1. Can the standard menu be resized so that I can put the video below it

2. WHat is the most efficient way so that the video keeps playing and content on the slide changes, basically one video is to be attached to say 20 slides.

Any help is much appreciated

TIA

Hey Jayant! Welcome to the community!

Have you considered using a combination of Storyline and Replay to build this course? You can download Replay for free if you already have a license for Storyline. With Replay you can walk learners through on-screen content by capturing screen activity and yourself on webcam—at the same time. And depending on how fancy you want to get, you can flip between videos or show two videos at the same time with picture-in-picture mixes. Replay publishes an an MP4 video, which you can then embed into Storyline.

Within Storyline, you can enable the menu in the left side bar, and the webcam video will be within the slide itself (not within the menu).

Have a look at what you can do with Replay, and let me know if you think that'll work for what you're looking to do!
