Create Multiple Response Quiz with Variables
Jun 05, 2013
I know this sounds strange because with the built in quiz this can be done automatically. What I am doing is creating one slide that uses layers for questions. This is not the problem, I have it work with multiple choice questions but when it comes to multiple response questions I am having some problems with the variables. I am using True/False variable for this but having trouble. I have 4 options to click on and only 2 are the correct options to select. I have also added a sample file of what I am doing if anyone wants to take a look. I had to strip everything out and I only left a one sample question that is a multiple response question. Any help would be great.

Hi Phillip!
I enjoy variables, but in this case it might be easier to work off of the states that are already in place with the answers.
I removed the triggers you already had in place and added two very simple triggers:
This seems to be working pretty well.
I'm also attaching the modified version, just in case you want to try it out.
If this doesn't work for you, or if you have any questions, just let me know.
Thanks!
Thanks for the response. That works nice except when I select all it takes me to the correct screen because it does have buttons 4 and 6 selected. So would this be were I would need a variable, to allow for the user selecting more than the correct answers? Let me know your thoughts on this.
Hi Phillip,
You could use a variable, or you could just modify the triggers so that it shows the incorrect layer if the incorrect options are selected.
If you'd like me to test this out for you, just let me know :)
Thanks!
if you would not mind testing it out for me that would be great. Thanks
Hi Phillip,
Sorry for the delay!
I actually just ended up modifying one of the existing triggers and added two more conditions:
Looks like this did the trick :) You should now see the "Incorrect" layer if all of the options are select, OR if either of the incorrect answers are selected.
Wanna take a look and see if this works for you?
Thanks!
that works great. Thanks so much for your help. it is greatly appreciated.
You're very welcome, Phillip. Happy that I could help :)
Have a great day!
