Create your Own Closed Caption

IN Storyline 360, I've added Text-To-Speech and have included Closed Captioning. I've removed the chrome player and closed caption button, so am trying to use Triggers to Turn Captions On and Off, and change the toggle button to selected when it is toggled from screen to screen. I'm haveing very limited success; it does or doesn't work from time to time. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to do this?

Hi Rory,
If you're using the built in closed captions of Storyline, you'll need to display those users the button on the storyline player. The custom button you've set up won't be able to access them.
Perhaps folks in the community can weigh in on your custom set up with other ideas!
Hi Ashley, I've got it working on some slides; the biggest trouble si showing the caption toggle on and off for each slide; I think I need to show layer or dispaly an over state if caption is switched on if the caption variable is true. Hoping someone can help me.
Hi Rory!

It should work but you will have to add the button on every concerned slide.
Hi Rory! I'm not sure I understand why are you using an "intermediate" variable (CaptionToggle), you could simply turn on and off the Player.DisplayCaption variable, or am I missing something?
I've solved this by adding a trigger at the beginning of each slide (or you can put the button on the master slide if possibile) which evaluates the Player.DisplayCaption var and sets the button to "selected" (or other) state if the variable is true and to "normal" if false. Of course, you'll have to do this to every concerned slide, or set up a master slide.
