Creating a button without using new layer
Dec 31, 2014
Hello,
I need help regarding creating a custom button that displays content when u click on it and the content disappears when u click back , without need of a new layer or a cross button to click on.
ive attached a storyline with 2 sample slides.
Sample 1 is the effect I want. where clicking the icon displays the content and ALSO allows hover effect on the capsule. The problem with this is that when i click on the ico again the content doesnt disappears . So it doesnt really function as a button.
Sample 2: is how i am able to create what I want by using a "selected" state for the icon and adding the content to it. This works perfectly but, the hover effect of the capsule is gone.
Any ideas? how can i get the clickable button, with additional effects on the displayed objects?

Have a look at the attached file with a revised slide 1 and see if that's what you want. I added a Selected state to the icon and toggle the elements on the slide based on the state of this icon.
Hello Sarosh!
I updated the second slide in your file. Check it out and see if this is what you are looking for.
I added a trigger to change the state of that content rectangle to Normal when hovered over the capsule, on condition that the button is in its selected state.
Thanks Emily ! that seems to do the trick.
Glad to hear Sarosh!
