Creating a Drag and Drop Interaction on a Layer
Jan 17, 2017
I have searched everywhere, with no avail to see if what I want do it will work. Essentially, I have a slide that has a timeline feature. For each dot on the timeline the user has to complete that section and then they can choose another dot (section) on the timeline.
The way the timeline works is once the learner clicks on one it shows selected. If they click on another that one shows selected and the previous one shows visited. After each is complete they can return back to the main menu of the e-learning.
With all that being said, each section can have multiple pieces of information for the learner. The particular section I am having an issue with is adding a Drag and Drop interaction to a layer (not a new slide). I would like the learner to stay on the same slide, but access the drag and drop interaction on a layer rather than a new slide so it doesn't mess up the triggers for the timeline or other sections on the timeline. Can this be done or am I going to have to rework the content to work outside of that one slide?
Thanks for the help!

Hi Lisa!
The built in Storyline question types only can have questions on the base layer of each slide, not on slide layers. You're welcome to share your file here if you'd like some assistance from the community on how you can re-configure your timeline interaction to work with a separate Drag and Drop slide.
Thanks for the quick response Alyssa! I was worried that might be the case, but I was able to reconfigure the slides and layers so everything still works as planned.
Glad you got it sorted out, Lisa! Thanks for coming back with an update. :)
