Creating a timer for articulate Storyline
Jan 07, 2015
Hi all! This is my first post ever on the E-learning Heroes website, and I must say I really need your help! We are creating courses in Storyline and I need a way to have a timer at the bottom of the course so that people know how much time is left. The course itself has no interactions and is more like a movie. I get that this could be easier done in PowerPoint, but the company I am working with purchased Storyline with the hopes of creating something more interactive in the future. Can anyone help me with creating this?
Thanks!
Heather

I'm not sure if this helps at all, but here is thread that discusses options for building a custom timer: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/custom-timer
This kind of helps. I am really looking for one that looks like the one in Articulate Studio for them. I need previous and next buttons and the time at the bottom... suggestions greatly appreciated.
Hi Heather,
Just an FYI when you reply via email your signature is included. You can edit your post to remove that information if you'd like.
Thank you for letting me know! Obviously, I am new to this. I guess I could use a timer on the slide, but I would need it to count up to show the time spent on the slide and the time left. Any ideas?
No worries Heather, we're happy to have you here, so welcome to the community! There isn't a built in timer that works as you have described. The link Michael shared is a good one to start with, and although not a "timer" there are a bunch of progress bars or other ideas in this thread.
