I'm creating vignettes for my eLearning course and I want to have the ability to let the learner click a play button to start the scene instead of the scene automatically starting when they hit next on the previous slide.
I can't seem to find a way to do this with the triggers. There doesn't seem to be an option to allow the timeline to start on a trigger action. Is there a work around for this?
Thanks for the suggestion. I think I understand what you're saying, but when you mention loading a layer that pauses the timeline on timeline start, how do you achieve the having the layer show first before the base layer?
If you set a trigger that shows a layer on timeline start of that slide the layer will load immediately, then hit the cog on the layer to ensure it pauses the base layer

I would load a layer that pauses the timeline on timeline start of the slide and then add a play button that simply closes that layer

Awesome, thanks for your help!
Dear Phil,
even though your reply is rather old I'd like to say Thank you! This trick was exactly what I needed today.
Cheers,
Nina
Glad to hear it Nina! Thanks for sharing :)
Is this still the only solution 8 years later or can I start the timeline with a trigger (for example, "on click, start the timeline")?
Hello Brenton!
The timeline starts automatically, so adding a trigger to pause the timeline is the solution!
I've attached a sample file that should help get you started!
Ah ok, great, thank you!
