Creating Interactions with True/False Variables to indicate completion of something

Apr 18, 2018

Hi All, I'm learning Storyline 360 and enjoying all the YouTube tutorials.  I just finished the one titled, "Creating Interactions with True/False Variables," and I did all the activities, but I am having a problem.  When a user clicks the button on the first slide to GO to the next slide, then they click the BACK button on the second slide to return to the first slide, the GO button they pressed earlier is supposed to now have a checkmark on it.  What's happening is that the GO button with the checkmark doesn't show until I pass my mouse over it, or hover over it.  It should automatically show, but I seem to have to wave my mouse over it for it to show up.  Is there something in the variables or triggers that could cause this?  Thanks for any help.

Thanks for your replies, Jonathan and Crystal.  I checked to see if I had added the checkmark to the hover state and I did not.  I added it to the Complete state.  Here is my file (I created my own instead of downloading the practice file).  See what you think...

Hi Brenda!  I made a slight change to trigger to change the state of the GO button.  I changed the "when timeline starts" piece to indicate the timeline of the slide as opposed to the button itself.  Once the timeline of the slide restarts, the check mark appears from the completed state as expected.

Can you test out the modified version I'm attaching and make sure it works for you too?  Thanks!
