Creating questions in Form View

May 31, 2019

I created questions in form view, using drag and drop.  The problem is when you drag a Wrong response over,  it says please try again; However the option selected does not return to where it started. How do I make this go back?  Hope this makes sense.

Hi Joseph,

It sounds like the option for:

Return to start point if dropped outside

Mark this box if you want to force drag items to snap back to their original locations when learners drop them outside a specific target. Use the corresponding drop-down to select either “any drop target” or “a correct drop target.”

Would meet your needs. I'd suggest based on your description that it returns to start if dropped outside a "correct drop target". Keep in mind - your learners will easily spot which is correct or incorrect this way.

Hi Joseph! Thanks for clarifying. It sounds like you want the objects to reset to their original position after seeing the Try Again layer. Here's how to make that happen:

  • Change the trigger on the Try Again layer button from "Hide this layer" to "Jump to slide (current slide number) when the user clicks." It will restart the slide when clicked, rather than just hiding the Try Again layer.
  • Adjust your slide properties to "reset to initial state" when revisiting. This will ensure that objects return to their original state when the slide starts again.

Let me know if that's not quite right!
