cursor movement to text entry box

Here is the scenario

I am building text boxes in separate layers

procedure is as follows:

create text box, when user hits TAB key- the next text entry box appears in the new layer.  However the mouse does not move into that text entry field, the user has to move the mouse over to it.

Is there a way to make the cursor arrive in the new text box when user hits TAB key?
