Custom buttons (prev, next, submit)
May 01, 2018
Hi community,
I am working on my custom course skills and I already developed a lot. Now I am facing a small challenge.
The course I created doesn't use the default player. Prev and next buttons are not used. Instead I created an own menu and menu button on the master slide (you click on it, it slides out) and custom preview and next buttons. Now when I create a quiz with multiple choice or yes/no questions I am also able to create a custom submit button. Nevertheless the only function I didn't get to work is making the hidden prev and next buttons appear after the questions have been answered correctly.
Any ideas on how this is done?
Thank you in advance!
best!
Julian

Are you wanting to trigger the Prev/Next buttons that are on the Master?
Julian - Why don't you just do what the normal Storyline quiz template would do and put a trigger on your "Correct" and "Incorrect" layers to advance the learner to the net slide when they click on "Continue." Will this solve the issue?
Thank you for the fast reply. I would like to trigger buttons that are not on the master slide.
Also big thank you for this reply. For just clicking through the course, this would probably do it. But if the learner would like to go back and forth the entire course (when questions are mixed with Information slides) this doesn't do the Job.
Do you understand what I mean?
thx!
Julian
All you would have to do then is add a "Retake Quiz" button along with the "Continue" button on the Correct/Incorrect layers. Basically, make it just like the Storyline templates for quizzes. This will allow the learner to go back or forward.
See attachment. Is this what you are wanting to do?
