Custom Feedback Layer not working

May 08, 2019

Hi, can anyone help with this issue please?

I have a multiple response question. The titles of the Correct, Incorrect and Try again (the learner can make 2 attempts) on the feedback layers have to be translated into another language. The slide functions correctly when the titles are in English, as per the original. However, when I edit the text of the titles, the Correct and Incorrect layers become inactive and do not appear when I preview the slide. The Try Again layer does behave as it should. Could it be something to do with the 'Custom Slide Layer' text which appears in the text field for 'Try Again' in the Form View, as per the attached snip? Many thanks.

Hi there, Angela!

Happy to take a closer look. It sounds like the Correct and Incorrect layers are disconnected from Form View. Are you using built-in feedback layers or custom feedback layers?

Here's one way to re-connect the feedback layers in Form View:

  • Insert new text in the feedback layer area, shown here. This will create new layers.
  • Copy the content from the original layers to the new layers.
  • Delete the original layers.

If you'd like some extra help with those steps, I can lend a hand! You can share your file publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.

Dear Alyssa,

Thank you so much for getting back to me. I'd be very grateful if you could take a look at this file for me. The feedback layers work correctly on all slides except for Slide 2. We have used customised feedback layers. I've attached the file via the link on your email.

Many thanks again,
Angela
