Custom font won't appear in SL2 - OK in other apps

Jun 01, 2016

Hi,

I'd like to be able to use a custom font in SL2 where, for example "1" has been changed to a computer symbol.

This font works OK in any Windows app I tried except, you guessed it, SL2!

SL2 / Notepad / Flash

(SL2 / Notepad / Flash)

I don't even know where SL can get this "1"  because it does not exist any more in the font.

Any idea ?

Hi Pierre,

Are you moving the .story file from one computer to another that doesn't have the font? If Storyline finds a font that is not installed, it'll revert to Arial as described here, so that is where the "1" is coming from. You can verify which fonts are installed in your system, by going to C:\Windows\Fonts.

If you're seeing it work within Word and Powerpoint we'd expect it to work within the Storyline environment as well, and if it's not we'd be happy to take a look. Can you share a copy of the font file?

Hi Pierre,

Just coming back to this thread and I see that Cleo was able to replicate the issue with your custom font in Storyline 2 Update 9, and then Storyline 1 Update 10 showed the icon but the spacing was off - so he's reported this to our QA team. He suggested searching Arial Unicode MS to find the similar computer icon and what shortcut keys you can use to insert that.

Once there is additional information to share, Cleo will contact you through your case.
