Custom Likert Slide & Reporting - DEADLINE

Feb 28, 2014

Hello,

I'm in the process of converting our Quizmaker courses over to Storyline, but we're having issues with how the Storyline Likert scale questions are reporting. We already have a system in place for converting evaluation responses from Quizmaker since those responses need to go into another system of ours for user tracking. I've attached an excel spreadsheet of how our current Quizmaker evaluations are reporting (top section), and how the Storyline testing eval is reporting (bottom section). We at least need the "StrID" column to separate out or the "LearnerResponse" column to show up for Storyline like it does for Quizmaker, with the "Agree_Strongly" and etc, showing up first. The back-end runs a script to convert these responses into letters that are input into the user tracking system.

After a few tries to edit the Likert scale around, I'm attempting to build my own slide with the same look and functionality, but hopefully tricking Storyline into reporting in a similar manner. Right now I have a slide with multiple button sets that function correctly for the user. I'm wondering if I can trigger each button to "report" as its designated variable but I'm really struggling to figure it out.

I have done a lot of searching and found many forum posts already discussing similar situations, but none of them have really helped me with this issue. I'm posting and image of how we want the slide to look, so you have an idea. Also, these buttons/selections do not need to be connected to the results slide in any way. The user just needs to progress through the evaluation and needs to answer all questions on a slide before proceeding to the next. The results that they need to see are only a "Thank you for completing this evaluation!" type of thing.

Sorry for being so long-winded, but this required a lot of explanation.

Thanks so much,

Melanie

Hello,

I have attempted several different fixes but none are working.

I've followed this tutorial: http://vimeo.com/52342544, in an attempt to make this work in a different manner and while it looks great, I can't figure out how to make Storyline record the actual responses and not just "all correct" or "incorrect" (except in this case all responses would be correct because it is an evaluation, not an actual quiz question).

Is a Likert scale the only way to make Storyline record the user's varied responses?

Any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks,

Melanie
