Custom markers/animations

Hello,

As part of our course, we have some slides that house a screencast. During said screencast, a marker will appear at a certain point (2-3 per video), and when that marker is clicked, it pauses the video and displays a layer which consists of many markers, each with a bit of information. Our manager doesn't like the way these markers are animated - not the 'swirl' nor the 'pulse' fits his taste. After researching a bit, i found several ways of creating a custom animation using layers and triggers. The problem here for us, is that the slide is already using multiple layers and utilizing their timeline, and it seems highly unpractical for us to create a layer for each marker on those layers.

Has anyone managed to create/import and use custom animations (that can appear on the marker's 'format' tab)? Any input/help would be greatly appreciated.
