Sure, I've attached an example that I've modified so it's ok to post. The mp4 is actually from a public post from someone else who wanted assistance for an issue but it demonstrates how the mute works. It works so well that you can basically switch in any mp4 and it will work, with no other changes needed.
Thank you again for your assistance. The code you sent didnt work at first so we updated to the latest Storyline version and ... "hey presto". All working as expected. We were almost 9 months behind in updates!

Hi, I use a similar code, which works for mp4 and audio files:
var appState = require("helpers/appState");
appState.onToggleVolume();//mute/unmute
console.log(appState.volumeToggle);
If the above doesn't work then I am not sure what the issue is.
Thank you for your prompt response Noel. I look forward to testing your code.

Hello Noel,
Would you be happy to send me a working example of a storyline file where the mute JavaScript has an affect over an embedded mp4?
I wonder if your mp4 embed/link method is different to mine.
Many thanks,
Nicole

Thank you very much Noel. I’ll take a peek tomorrow at work. Super interested to take a look.
Best regards and thanks to you again.

That's great to hear! I am surprised that it wasn't working with an earlier version, but great that it does with the latest version.
