Custom question and result page
Oct 19, 2015
Hello all,
my colleague and I have created a slide which is a custom question. We haven't used any presets, not even a freeform question. It's a drag and drop question with multiple correct drag items which must be dragged to the same drop-zone. (What we try to achieve is a quiz about mushrooms which must be composed to a mushroom-stew. Choosing the right mushroom(s) will increase a variable and choosing the wrong one(s) will decrease it. According to the value of the variable the user is directed to the "correct-" or "incorrect-slide".)
Now we would like to count the outcoming of this quiz to the other results of "normal" Storyline quizzes.
But we don't know how. Altering the "result.scorepoints" variable isn't possible as far as we know.
Has anyone an idea how to manage to get our result into a result slide?
Thank you for your help!
Fabian and Jessica

Hopefully someone in the community will be able to assist you with your design. It may be helpful if you could share the .story file to take a peek at.
I have made a new .story file, because in the original file there are pictures which I am not allowed to share.
So don't wonder that the example looks rather shabby.
One option is to add an offstage Pick-One question to the custom question and then use triggers to submit that interaction. See attached a quick example. For testing purposes, I added a results slide so that you can see that the score of this 'invisible question' is tracked correctly and added tothe overall score.
That was a great idea! Thank you!
I chose a pick many question in the background and "tied" the states of the icons to the drop state of the corresponding mushroom.

Now about this recipe for mushroom stew..... :-)
Glad you got what you needed here Peter, and feel free to let us know if you need anything else.
