I am new to storyline. I am doing a course where the learner can, based on the answers they pick, find out what kind of leaders they are. It's sort of like a personality test. The learners answer the questions by choosing between three alternatives. At the end of the test, they will see a customized resultslide for the alternative they most picked. What is the best way to achieve this?
Hi Maria, if you want to show different results based on different scoring brackets, you can definitely do that. All it requires is creating customized layers on your result slide, and using triggers to tell Storyline the circumstances under which each layer should appear. Take a look at the idea shown here.
I was so curious about your personality test I decided to build one based on the likert scale survey questions but actually using radial buttons and assigning a score variable to them. Worked like a charm, returning different results and results slides based on the total of their %score% as well as their final test question, this basic module should work well as a starting point for a personality quiz. I was thinking similar to the ones found in O and Cosmo magazines, the combinations are endless. Hopefully this will help.
Hi Maya, I'm very interested to see your test as I am building something similar at the moment, as well. When I click on your link, however, it comes up with a page titled, "Pet Personality Test" but the screen is blank, aside from being a peachy-tan colour. Would you mind checking to see if there's an error with it? If the .html link won't work, perhaps you could just upload the .story file, itself? Thank you!
I'm going to try this again, and if it doesn't work will need to hijack this post to figure out how to upload a story, published for the web onto these boards.
Very welcome. Jeanette. How can I create a template for others to use with a gradeable likert scale and post? I'm new at this stuff, could you provide a link? Thank you in advance for your assistance. I have a ton of ideas and workaround I would like to throw up for other questions. I'm no "expert" yet, but I have created over 150 modules using Presenter and Storyline since last March.
Very cool that you want to share your work, Maya! A really great way to do that is to record a screenr to describe what you built and how you did it. Then create a new forum thread (a good place to do that would be in the General Discussion forum). In your forum thread, include the link to your screencast and attach your source file so folks can download it. As an example, check out the way Montse shared her work in this post.

Hi Maria,
I haven't had a chance to look at Jeanette's story yet - it's on the To Do list. So this may be redundant. But I came across this thread:
Survey questions: summary screen of a user's responses a few days ago and thought it was such a great idea. And, it seemed to me like one that would be used for just the purpose you describe.
Jeanette, gave it a quick look-see and then recreated. Excellent! Thanks.
Oh cool, thanks Becky!

I noticed that, think my office filter didn't like it, so I will upload the file from home this evening.

Wish me luck because it's really cool.
Oh, and so you can see the inner workings of the personality quiz, here's the .story file to crack open and reverse engineer. Fabulous idea.
Nice job, Maya! Thanks for sharing!

Great! Thanks. I will create a generic quiz using this same theory for other to use as starting templates. I've learned much from your screenr's.
