Customizing The Results Page

Jul 09, 2013

I created a test bank that pulls in ten questions at the end of each unit I am creating.  After each test I have a results page showing whether the user passed or failed the test.  In order for a user to pass they must get 100% per test.  I need to set it up to where if they do not pass a perticular test with 100% they then must retake the quiz until they do pass.  How to I set up the results page to allow for this function?

Thanks.

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Mike!

Great idea and question! The easiest method for this, in my opinion is to enable the "Retry Quiz" option and control how the "Next" button appears for users whether they're on the "Pass" or "Fail" layers when they arrive at the results slide.

For example, what I would do is disable the built-in "Next" button for the results slide and place a custom "Next" button only on the "Pass" layer. On the "Fail" layer, you could add some additional instructions, if you'd like, stating that they would need to retry and pass the quiz in order to continue. The only option they'd have at that point is to click on the "Retry Quiz" button and start the quiz over again.

Again, this is a very simple method. If you're looking for something a little more elegant, I'm sure there's a lot of other options for you. It just depends on how you want to handle this and design the results slide for users.

Best of luck on the project and welcome again!

Christine
