Customizing the Storyline 2 menu

Jan 15, 2021

Hi.  I'm building a SL2 course that will be navigated using the built in menu.  I want users to be able to click a menu item and go to that page. I noticed that "layers" do not appear on the menu.  Is there anyway to get layers to appear automatically?  I've added them in the menu in the player, but they are not clickable.  Can I make them clickable?

Hello Jan!

Good question! Layers aren't included in the Menu. Have you tried to copy/paste the contents from each layer to a slide, and then adding a trigger on when to show each slide?

If you have a project file, I'm happy to take a look to offer more specific advice.

I also want to remind that you that Adobe disabled the Flash Player on December 31, 2020, so Storyline 1, Storyline 2, Studio ‘09, or Studio ‘13 are no longer supported since they were built with Flash dependencies. Articulate 360 and Storyline 3 do not rely on Flash so we do recommend upgrading your projects to one of those programs. If you need help deciding what would be best for you, we'd love to help! Thanks, Lauren.  I mistakenly said SL2 but I have SL3. :-)  And yes, I thought about the separate slides, but I'm creating a reference guide and having layers helps organize things better.  I was hoping I could add the layers to the menu manually and then somehow make them clickable.  But I will instead consider the slide options.  Thanks.
