I want to have a data entry field where students solve the problem and put their answer in the data entry field. If it's correct, they get the next button; if it's incorrect, they get a "try again" layer. I'm not using the built-in quiz slides. I'd like to use the number variable.
What element are you having difficulty setting up? Do you have a sample project going already since you're not using the numeric quiz slide? It may be easier to assist if you're able to let us know where things stand now and what we could assist with. You can upload a file here using the "add attachment" button.
Can you tell me how to recreate the issue you are experiencing here? I added another slide to progress to and your example works for me. I didn't change anything on your actual slide.

I can't seem to get the example working - I need two text entry boxes to equal a different value before moving on. See attached.
