Delayed Images
Oct 25, 2018
Hello,
Something a little strange is occurring in my AS3 file.
A number of images within the presentation seem to appear about 0.5 of a second after a layer which they are a part of displays which is creating an annoying 'flickering' effect.
For the life of me I can't work out what's doing this other than we are on a Citrix environment and there may be some latency but I would assume this problem would apply to all objects, not just the images.
I'd be very grateful if someone could please take a look at what's happening on;
- Slide 1.2 / layer_Economic
- Slide 1.2 / layer_Environmental
- Slide 1.2 / layer_Human
- Slide 1.2 / layer_Lifestyle
Thanks in advance.
Anthony.

Hi Anthony,
The delay is caused by the loading time, usually there will a fraction of second when a "layer" or "Slide" triggers applied. And i don't think there is a solution for this.
So sorry you've come across the case of the flickers, Anthony. I'd love to help!
I had a look at your project on the latest update of Storyline 3; here's a general idea of what I'm seeing:
After some experimenting, I found that adding a short Fade animation to each image reduces the flicker intensity. Check it out, and let me know what you think!
In the meantime, I'm going to get this flashing behavior from my testing in front of our Support Engineers for a second opinion. I've created a case on your behalf, so you should receive a confirmation email shortly. I'll follow along, as I'm curious to know what's causing this!
Hi Katie,
Thanks for the quick reply and the testing.
I must say I am always impressed by the support Articulate provide.
The fade effect does improve the flicker slightly but without sounding like a pain, the issue is till there (but confusingly not on all slides).
Looking forward to a reply back soon.
Thanks again Katie.
Much appreciated.
Anytime, Anthony. I took a peek at your support case, and see that you and Jose isolated the flashing to a latency issue with Citrix. Your intuition was spot-on!
Thanks for the opportunity to troubleshoot with you, and we're here if you have any more questions!
Yep it does indeed to be latency.
Thanks again Katie. Much appreciated.
