Delete learning progress via a button - is that possible?

Feb 13, 2017

Hello everyone,

I'm almost done with creating a new articulate training for our company and now face the following problem: I want articulate to track the learning progress and ask the user "do you want to proceed where you left off in your last session" so that the user can decide YES (gets back to where s/he left) or NO (gets back to the beginning) whenever s/he enters the course again. This works out fine so far. However, we finish our courses with a sound logo - that is a short video featuring the company brand full size on the screen (with no navigation bars). Now, if the user gets on that video slide and exits the course there, they get into an endless loop because they get onto this same slide when they click YES to "do you want to proceed where you left off in your last session" every time.

2 solutions come to mind:
a. having navigation bars on the slide via which the user can get back to the main menu (this is not what we prefer, however, as the sound logo is widely used and always appears the same way)
b. setting a trigger to the button "exit training" (which is on the second last slide) which deletes the learning progress, so that the prompt "do you want to proceed where you left" does not occur next time and the user gets to the first slide automatically, while it still DOES occur whenever the user just exits the course before finishing it.

Thank you very much for your help! Best wishes, Hannah

Hi Hannah!  Hoping you get some good feedback.  Would it be possible to turn on the Menu on the last slide so that your learners will have some way to navigate back through if needed?  Check out the heading "Showing or Hiding Player Features" for help on that.  For your branding, I could understand if that might not be the preferred option.

Even if you set triggers to reset variables adjusted along the way, it will not change the prompt to resume the course.  The prompt to resume is handled by either by a Flash cookie in the browser or by bookmarking by the LMS.
